Founded in 1905 by Pennathur Subramania Iyer, the state-board 'Main' school of the P.S. group relocated in 1928 to Brodie's Road (R.K. Mutt Road area) on 36 acres, with additional recreational land leased from the Kapaleeswarar Temple. It teaches grades 6-12 (primary classes run at North Mylapore) and offers commerce, biology and computer science streams at the higher secondary level; it is distinct from the CBSE-affiliated P.S. Senior Secondary School.
