About this school
Boys' High School & College, commonly known as BHS, was founded in 1861 and is one of the oldest schools in the city. It began as a Christian school for the children of Europeans and Anglo-Indians and has long admitted pupils of all backgrounds. It is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations for the ICSE and ISC examinations, where it is listed with school code UP009, and has been managed by the Allahabad High School Society since 2006. Historically a boys' school, it began admitting girls in its senior and college sections in 2025. Girls' High School & College on Elgin Road is its counterpart institution.
